welcome.
Yes, this is where student researchers at ultraversity have banded
together through the experience of jellyOS and on into FirstClass and
plone as we progress through this unusual degree course. Starting from
just a handful in the summer of 2003, we have grown into a substantial
unnofficial student and alumni body, with resources, innovation and
community spirit. If you are a student or graduate at ultraversity then
you are very welcome to join us. It's not essential to your degree, but
may provide company , support and a chance to meet up informally with
fellow researchers both virtually and perhaps in reality.

blogging. Ultraversity researchers are expected to
keep a Learning Journal, right from the start and some of us used blogs
for this. A blog is a web log, a kind of online diary but it gets more
exciting than that when you have visitors who leave comments on your
blog. Then there are ways to subscribe to lots of people's blogs all in
one go. This now merits a page of its own on ultrastudents, with all
the latest help and info you need to get started or learn more.

philosophy: The ultrastudents group is based on cooperation. If you need help there will be people in the group who will give their knowlege and assistance, and in return there is bound to be a way you can help others too. Sharing work is encouraged - we are not in competition for marks, so make your coursework and findings public as far as possible. This may mean seeking help in how to put stuff online or make a simple website. |

resources There is a growing collection of links to websites which may be useful in our studies here. If you would like to send in any links to be included or reviews of websites please mail the webkeeper |

A wiki is a collaborative Web site - a site where any one can edit any thing on any page, a bit like the registered users and group pages in jellyOS. Sound like a recipe for disaster? Thanks to revision control and community spirit wikis are thriving all over the 'net. Ultrastudents is an ideal kind of group to develop and maintain its own wiki , and the one at Swiki.net was developing rapidly when it got hit by problems at the Server and became unavailable for long periods, leading to abandonment. Then we had some pages on the semi official UV wiki, which got kind of spurned by the LFs, so now we have our own space on wikispaces |

Student Reps The student representatives system fell into disrepute due to a lack of solidarity when needed and the revelation that the reps represent nobody but themselves. |
